I painted this after I had a dream, or maybe I should say a vision. This happened during a hard time in my life when I was feeling desperate and isolated, questioning God about my circumstances. In the dream, a man hands me an open book and asks me to read it. I read: The reason God is letting it be. You. Me. Forever. I understood the significance of this in light of my present circumstances, and I was given hope and assurance that God was with me. The poetry is from Shakespeare: Her spirit is stronger than the sea's embrace. The music is Bach's 14th invention, which I was teaching at the time. There are pages from my grandfather's Swedish hymnbook. The yarrow signifies a "cure for a broken heart". Butterflies represent new life and freedom. |
You. Me. Forever.
